**Responsibilities**
The successful candidate will have a combination of coursework, experience, and knowledge in electrical engineering principles with demonstrated capabilities in identifying, analyzing, and implementing solutions to challenges and risks associated with power generation and energy system integration. Working in collaboration with senior engineers, scientists, and project managers the successful candidate will conduct engineering and regulatory-based analyses across a diverse range of projects including but not limited to analysis of engineered systems; risk and consequence analysis; and the investigation and assessment of criteria and performance-based requirements for the deployment of novel energy systems and impacts associated with their implementation
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical/electronic systems, components, equipment, and networks as well as their control and optimization theory and techniques. Adapts and applies control theory to design electrical/electronic systems with desired behaviors. Designs, develops, installs, and supervises all aspects of control systems and processes. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Researches, develops, and applies tools, simulations, and models of electric power systems and components addressing problems in planning, operations, economics, resilience, and optimization of system performance. Designs and develops new techniques and methodologies for control and integration of diverse energy resources and points of consumption. Develops and applies system architectures, models, and technologies for secure and reliable electric power systems and related technologies such as communications systems and grid cyber security.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BS/BA and 7+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
+ MS/MA and 5+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
+ PhD with 3+ year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Degree(s) in electrical engineering and demonstrated experience working in or applying principles and processes to the commercial power generation, advanced nuclear power, and the energy systems landscape.
+ Additional credentials demonstrating domain expertise (e.g., PE license, electrician license)
+ Familiarity with the methodologies, codes, and tools used to conduct systems-based engineering analysis and associated techno-economic/risk assessments associated with the production of nuclear derived energy including federal and commercially relevant uses.
+ Experience with nuclear power production (heat and power), electrical infrastructure and integration, controls and instrumentation, and microgrids.
+ Education or experience associated with financial and techno-economic analysis of engineered systems and solutions which drive financial decision-making.
