Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and performing advanced vehicle repairs and maintenance, performing emissions testing (state inspections were applicable), vehicle movement, inventory management, repair documentation, and computer utilization.

+ Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on multiple makes and models of DriveTime inventory vehicles.

+ Explain automotive repairs and issues to management to minimize re-work and delays in production.

+ Proper documentation of all work performed in DT systems.

+ Keep area clean and organized to maintain highest level of safety and compliance.

+ High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate or Associates degree in automotive technology or work experience equivalent (3 years or more) in automotive repair.

+ Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Lead Technician provides direction to a group of technicians to ensure that all repairs and maintenance of equipment are performed in compliance with the Company’s safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations. The Maintenance Lead Technician is responsible for all chassis (diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks) and refuse bodywork, including, but not limited to, hydraulic, electrical, heating and air conditioning system maintenance and repair. In addition, the Lead Technician diagnoses more complicated repair work; provides coaching on diagnostic techniques to subordinate technicians; performs external repair inspections to ensure all repair work is done in a safe manner; and schedules the repair work for his or her work group to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the shop.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains expert knowledge of, and advanced working proficiency in, the following vehicle components and systems, with the ability to perform complex repair maintenance functions, both on-site and on the road:o Chassis component repair and maintenance; Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems
o Air and hydraulic braking systems;
o Engine repair and maintenance;o Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems; and
o Heating and air conditioning systems.
o Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
o Provides direction to technicians assigned to his or her work group to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient and timely manner. May plan and schedule repair work to minimize lost productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems:o Suspensions, Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions.
At least 3 years of experience in a role requiring compliance with OSHA Haz Com, OSHA Lock Out Tag Out, and all OSHA fire protection regulations is a plus but not required.
At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus but not required.
ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) is a plus but not required.
Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required
Valid Driver’s License.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.

With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including, but not limited to, chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, hydraulic electrical, air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive train and steering systems. **Position Summary**

The Automotive Technician plays a pivotal role within our automotive service team. As a vital member, you learn and develop foundational skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, this role involves hands-on learning to address various automotive systems and services. Automotive Technicians participate in routine inspections, contribute to vehicle assessments, and assist in repair procedures. Additionally, Automotive Technicians may interact with customers to explain repair procedures, answer inquiries, and provide exceptional service. Overall, this role demands a combination of mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. Pay Range: $16.50 - $24.80

**Responsibilities**

+ Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services.

+ Perform inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems.

+ Install batteries and check electrical systems.

+ Perform tire maintenance.

+ Install parts.

+ Road test vehicles.

+ Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least one of A1 – A8 within first two years of employment (Tests and registrations fees are paid for by company pass or fail. Technicians receive bonus for each test passed)

**Position Summary**

The Automotive Technician plays a pivotal role within our automotive service team. As a vital member, you learn and develop foundational skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, this role involves hands-on learning to address various automotive systems and services. Automotive Technicians participate in routine inspections, contribute to vehicle assessments, and assist in repair procedures. Additionally, Automotive Technicians may interact with customers to explain repair procedures, answer inquiries, and provide exceptional service. Overall, this role demands a combination of mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. Pay Range: $16.50 - $24.80

**Responsibilities**

+ Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services.

+ Perform inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems.

+ Install batteries and check electrical systems.

+ Perform tire maintenance.

+ Install parts.

+ Road test vehicles.

+ Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least one of A1 – A8 within first two years of employment (Tests and registrations fees are paid for by company pass or fail. Technicians receive bonus for each test passed)

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains a basic knowledge of a vehicle's mechanical and electrical systems to perform basic preventive maintenance and some repair functions.
Areas of equipment maintenance may include: Vehicle PM inspections and adjustments; Oil changes and fluids replenishment; Adjustments and light repairs including tire changes; and Basic electrical work, such as light changes; Conducts visual inspections to identify potential equipment issues and identify the sources of malfunctions using a variety of tools.

+ 2 years of experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair, a technical school degree with certification in heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance
