The City of Tempe’s Growing Together initiative aims to expand Tempe’s urban forest canopy through a school greening program that involves planting and maintaining trees on Tempe Elementary School District properties. The School Greening & Grounds Maintenance Specialist will coordinate a partnership with Tempe School District staff, determine training needs, and design and deliver maintenance training
to subordinates and school district staff. The work is focused on trees and tree-related maintenance activities including planting, pruning, and removal. Work activities will be coordinated with both city and school district staff to provide best management practices for trees located on school district property.

Essential Job Functions:
• Perform job duties adequately and properly; follow personnel and department policies and operating procedures; show respect, tact, and courtesy in dealing with city coworkers, school district staff, and the general; represent both the city and the school district that is safe and
respectful to others.
• Lead tree care activities including planting, pruning, removal, and general tree health care.
• Supervise and train staff and assist in providing tree care activities.
• Work with management to provide and deliver tree care maintenance training activities.
• Check irrigation and conduct minor repairs to provide water as needed.
• Operate and maintain tree care-related equipment.
• Conduct routine on-site or project inspections to determine maintenance needs and schedule and prioritize work.
• Communication with management staff on maintenance tasks and equipment needs and provide weekly reports of activities.

Our client is looking for a Manual Machinist to join the team in Tucson, AZ. The Manual Machinist role is responsible to perform basic lathe/milling operations by utilizing medium size machines including manual lathes/mills and inspect basic/routine parts for defects and wear.

Please note: This position requires vocation skills and is not a machine operator or CNC Machinist.

a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Runs multiple machines efficiently, which may require simultaneous operations. Adapts or

improvises tooling to accomplish results where operations require a broad knowledge of production

machining technology, operating skills, and shop techniques together with diversified experience.

• Sets ups, adjusts, and operates a variety of conventional and/or special purpose CNC Lathe

machines to perform the most diversified and difficult production operations on work having close

and exact tolerances, several dimensional relationships, unusual contours, dimensional and finish

requirements.

• Interprets customer requirements from blueprints, complex drawings, engineering

specifications, quality directives, charts, tables, sketches, and verbal instructions.

• Interfaces with engineering to resolve drawing errors, suggest design changes, and solve

product/process problems.

• Implements manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling.

May advise and assist with tooling design.

• Makes complex setups, which may include multiple work piece stations, utilizing custom and

standard holding devices.

• Develops and defines processes with limited documentation, as required.

• Trouble shoots and resolves machining problems.

• Responsible for machining and checking parts to maintain a high level of quality and

efficiency.

• Inspects finished parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination, and utilizes

precision measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and surface

plate techniques. May be required to use coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Ensures equipment is

calibrated in accordance with schedule.

• Routinely maintains equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to

division requirements.

• Accurately and regularly performs statistical process control (SPC) specific to division

requirements.

• Uses advanced shop mathematics, which may include trigonometry, and general knowledge of metal

characteristics and other processing requirements.

• Actively contributes to lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for

improvement. Effectively applies lean concepts and tools in work area.

• Provides guidance or assistance in coordinating workload priorities to make appropriate

Your Role and Responisbiliites:

Responsible for set-up and operating machine tools to create / modify ceramic parts for direct sale to a customer.

Set up CNC & industrial machinery and oversee its functioning. Must be able to interpret and use blueprints for specific piece design, as well as calibrate equipment to follow product specifications. Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.

Must be able to report progress to the production supervisor in their department.

+ Operate multiple CNC and conventional machines and/or equipment

+ Evaluate equipment needs and ensure suitable replacement parts are available

+ Make process suggestions for programming new and existing product

+ Prioritize production orders or processing requirements and respond accordingly

REQUIREMENTS :
