**Where You Will Work **

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

**What You Will Do**

+ Acquire knowledge of and recognize engineering principles related to site-wide water systems including hydrology, hydraulics, hydrogeology, water treatment plant processes, and general water quality for the purposes of quantifying water fluxes across process, mine, tailings, crushed leach, and stormwater areas.

+ Perform analysis/modeling/engineering projects related to water management practices and special investigative projects. Follow leadership directives and provide technical support to site water teams on related activities and projects at mine sites.

+ Support the development, maintenance, and implementation of strategic plans to enhance mining operations’ water management activities.

+ Communicate accurate, timely and relevant water management information to operational management team and staff.

+ Perform other duties as required.

**What You Bring To Freeport**

+ High School Diploma or GED and (4) four years of Engineering experience, **OR**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline from an accredited curriculum

+ Knowledge of principles of surface and subsurface hydrology, and numerical modeling

+ Proficient in MS Excel and Word, with knowledge of other MS Office software

+ Fluency in English

+ Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to a diversely educated audience.

+ Present a positive, professional image.

+ Self-motivated, energetic, able to execute, and client-service oriented.

+ Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety of yourself and others.

+ Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Education/experience with water management, process design or water/wastewater treatment.

+ Able to research and analyze information and draw valid conclusions.

+ Good interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills with diverse teams of technical and non-technical staff

+ Be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.

**What We Offer You**

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$76,000-$104,000** . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. **What We Require **
