Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

**Responsibilities**

**Position Summary:**

Provides assessment and therapy to individuals in the area of functional activities related to activities of daily living and upper body strength and mobility for an adolescent adult and geriatric patient population. Also provides education to patients appropriate family members and friends in order to restore patients' functional independence and reduce or prevent long term disability. Assists the patients to reach their maximum potential and return to their family and community. Coordinates with other disciplines and implements the programs of the Occupational Therapy Department under the general direction of the Rehabilitation Directors.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

+ Minimum of one year of experience as an O.T.R. in physical disabilities setting preferably in acute care or acute rehabilitation OR completion of six to nine months internship in an acute care or acute rehab required.

+ Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy required.

+ Bachelor of Arts or Sciences required.

+ CT CPRBLS;RG OT required.

+ Current license by the California Board of Occupational Therapy required.

+ Current BLS certification required.

**Preferred:**

+ Experience in physical disabilities setting preferably in acute care or acute rehabilitation preferred.

+ Knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory treatment and evaluation in the areas of neurology preferred.

+ Membership of AOTA and OTAC preferred.

**Pay Range**

$57.63 - $66.83 /hour
