ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL

**Responsibilities**

Acts as a resource for the Patient Access Department and patient access supervisor. Assist with hiring. Responsible for training new staff, auditing charts, and process/policy implementation. Assist Facility Administrator at their request.

+ Courteously and professionally greets patients.

+ Obtain accurate demographic insurance information. Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.

+ Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs. Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions.

+ Process medical records requests.

+ Train new staff.

+ Prepare monthly paperwork for scanning.

+ Prepare bank deposits.

+ Audit patient charts for accuracy.

+ Maintain consistent communication within the department.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

+ 1 year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience

+ 1 year of management, supervisor, or lead experience

+ High School Diploma/GED

+ Required upon hire: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate

+ Medical terminology, insurance verification, schedule maintenance

**Pay Range**

$18.00 - $22.42 /hour
